Known Rituals

Alchemist’s Nigrido

Cost: 1 Flesh and 1 Symbol Oblations.

Requirements: Blood from somebody with a dyscrasia of all four humours, something with the subject’s name on it burned, something rotten.

Effect: This ritual is the first step towards creating the alchemist’s magnum opus, granting them insight into hidden matters. The ritual permanently grants the subject the archetype Philosopher, in addition to any other archetypes. They gain two personal resources with the Philosophy aspect for the current summit. At the start of the next summit, the subject will gain a manuscript for Alchemist’s Albedo.

A New Thread In The Weave

Cost: 10 Symbol Oblations.

Requirements: The presence of somebody who knows the subject Ritual and blood from a member of the archetype mentioned in that ritual; the signature of somebody with a second archetype; the presence of at least one Warlock; exactly three people.

Effect: The ritual takes an existing ritual that requires the presence of a single existing Archetype to cast, and searches for corresponding rituals for another Archetype – that of the signatory. Clues to the appropriate ritual’s nature appear; and must be found and collated. It immediately creates a Project with magnitude 7 and the aspects Warlock, Research and Sorcery. If that Project is completed, it will produce a manuscript of a new ritual that will be delivered to the next Summit by the Administrators.

Archivist’s Dead Hand

Cost: 1 Symbol Oblations.

Requirements: The presence of a Scholar, a nonfiction book, the subject’s signature, ink.

Effect: This ritual draws upon the records left by those now dead, guiding the subject towards the knowledge they seek. If the subject has any Research personal resources, they get an extra Research personal resource. Creates a roleplay effect on its subject, for the rest of the summit – “You feel a reverence for rare knowledge”.

Assess the Humours

Cost: 1 Flesh Oblation.

A Surfeit Of Leeches

Cost: 3 Flesh Oblations.

Requirements: The presence of a Doctor, something made of willow, something made of bone, a jar of muddy water.

Effect: This ritual creates, as if from nothing, an abundance of subtly intelligent leeches that a skilled practitioner can use to treat medical conditions. The subject gains 3 Resources with the aspect Medicine. Creates a roleplay effect on its subject, for the rest of the summit – “You feel visceral discomfort if you could act to relieve somebody’s suffering and don’t.”

Attis Reborn

Cost: 1 Flesh Oblation.

Requirements: A Libertine, a Doctor, a mask.

Effect: This ritual allows the subject to alter their physical appearance as they see fit: the end result can be anything they wish and need not conform to the normal appearance of their Genus. They cannot swear Oaths, and are wracked with pain if they try.

Whenever they participate in a Ritual, they gain an Omen card.

The effects of this ritual are permanent and can never be reversed.

Behold the Shivering Embrace

Cost: Free

Requirements: An Administrator with somewhere to take you, veils, pseudo-death

Effects: All participants are temporarily enveloped in the Administrative Mind allowing them to control and see through the eyes of Administrative vessels. This ritual needs an Administrator to provide an opportunity to cast it, without which it doesn’t do anything. It counts as an excursion.

Beseech The Hyades

Cost: 1 Flesh and 1 Symbol Oblation.

Requirements: A Philosopher or a Monster, the shape of the Hyades constellation drawn, an intoxicant consumed by the subject.

Effect: The ritual makes the things in dreams real, creating tangible resources. The ritualists can spend any number of Omen Cards: for each card spent, the subject gains a Personal Resource with the Philosophy or Terror aspect. For the remainder of the summit, the subject has the roleplaying effect: “You can see the hidden influence of the Queen Cassilda of Hali and are terrified by her impending arrival”.

Binding the Fated Threads

Cost: 1 Oblation token per participant as specified by the Administrators

Requirements: An Administrator approved committee proposal (see below), thread, oaths sworn to pursue the purpose of the committee proposed by each participant.

Effects: This ritual binds the participants together into a committee to allow individuals of different factions to make decisions together based on shared traits or goals. Prior to casting the ritual, a committee proposal must be submitted to the Administrators. It must contain:

  • A Committee Name (this must reflect the nature and purpose of the committee, e.g. Alliance of Wild Kith Rights or United Medical Research Initiative)
  • A Unifying Aspect (this is something that all founding and future members must have. This could be genus (e.g. Fae), resource aspects (e.g. Medicine), or even goals or interests (e.g. Becoming Immortal).
  • Purpose (the committee must have a distinct and clear purpose. It could be founded to tackle one specific issue e.g. Issues with sunlight for Dawn Vampires, or more broad ones e.g. Ensuring the Protection of Lycan Rights)
  • Founding Members (This will be a list of the Founding Members of the Committee)

Once approved, the Administrators will inform you of the type of Oblation Token that will be required. Inherent traits are more likely to need Flesh Oblations while vocational traits are more likely to need Symbol Oblations. You will then perform the ritual with all founding members.

Once created Committees are permanent until all members vote unanimously to dissolve the Committee. Future rituals may require committees to cast. Committees have the following powers, all require unanimous votes of the Committee:

  • Submit advisory motions (This works very similarly to faction advisory motions but must pertain to the specific purpose of the committee. Any scribe may be used to submit it to the Administrators.)
  • Add new members (New members must be Administrator approved and must have the unifying aspect. They must perform the same ritual as created the Summit however only the new member must give an oblation token)
  • Remove members (Does not require Administrator approval but Administrators must be informed. Requires a 0 oblation token ritual mirroring the initiation ritual that involves cutting threads and breaking promises.)

Cost: 4 Flesh and 7 Symbol Oblations.

Requirements: The presence of an Explorer, an Ancient, a Libertine, and a Scholar, a sworn oath by all ritualists involved to pursue transcendence, a ritual circle marked with a faction’s symbol, shadows.
