
Just as the body contains vessels that elemental energy flows through, so also does the land itself. These pathways are what we term leylines. Adjusting the flow of energies through these channels allows a skilled user to remake the land itself – in sometimes-subtle and sometimes-dramatic ways – as they alter the elemental makeup of the environment around them.
To do this, a point must be found where these channels intersect, known as a Convergence. Here, the different channels for various come together in a tangled mass; by reaching into this tangle and shifting the specific arrangements, these changes propagate into the wider network of ley lines around the Convergence, and so change the world around them.
A convergence exists in a delicate state of balance. Each alteration to it makes this balance more unstable, the whole convergence teetering like a jenga-tower the more that magicians meddle with its composition. If things are pushed too far, or a magician’s approach is too clumsy, the whole thing can come crashing catastrophically down, creating a sudden wave of natural disasters as the leylines thrash about uncontrollably.
As such, leyline magic is best approached by those with a direct plan, and the steady hands and cool hearts to make the necessary adjustments without causing disasters.

Energy Magic in Play
Present at the summit will be The Convergence, a point where the leylines of the city connect, from which they can be manipulated to adjust the flow of energy around the city.
This is represented by a single Jenga tower, with blocks divided between four colours, corresponding to the four elements: reddish for fire, pale for air, greyish for water, and dark for earth. Some blocks may also be marked with a symbol; these cause feedback when pulled. Each adjustment to the leylines is made by pulling a jenga block from the tower and placing it at the top, like in standard jenga. Alongside the Convergence will be a list of possible effects compiled by the Administrators. Each effect requires a specific sequence of pulls of the correct colour (or potentially symbol), and will have a given broad effect when that sequence of pulls is completed.
Pulling a piece marked with a symbol causes feedback when pulled, inflicting a roleplaying effect on the subject immediately.
If the tower falls, the ley-lines are damaged, immediately creating a new crisis as the leylines thrash uncontrollably, and preventing any further pulls.
